Hyottoko is one of the most striking characters in Japanese folklore, due to his peculiar face and his fame as graceful. Legends tell, that Hyottoko is a being that spits fire through a tube of bamboo. Because of this feature, Hyottoko was adopted as "The Fire God" in the Tohoku region. Nowadays it is represented with this mask that is used in many festivities in Japan.
